It's Time to Reverse Your Ceiling Fans

Clean Your Ceiling Fan

It's that time of year again. Time to get the most out of your ceiling fan. Now that we're heading into spring, it's time to reverse the rotation of the blades.

The blades on your fan are tilted a certain way for a reason. In the winter, experts say that the fan should spin clockwise ir order to pull the colder air up from the floor and mix with the warmer air so it keeps your whole room warmer. In the spring and summer, you should reverse that and the blades should spin counter-clockwise to push the air down so it blows on your and keeps you cool.

Get the most out of your ceiling fan

If you've never done this, it's very simple. Most fans have a little switch on the body of the fixture. "Ohhhh that's what that switch is for" Yeah.

You should also clean the blades before the maiden reversing otherwise dust will fly everywhere and you'll have a whole new mess to worry about.

It should go without saying that you need to turn off the fan and let the blades come to a complete stop before you try any of this. But just to be safe...THERE, WE SAID IT.
