Country singer Doug Supernaw has died.

He passed away Friday morning after battling stage 4 lung and bladder cancer for nearly two years. He was 60.

His record label, B&G Records, announced his death, writing: "It is with great sadness that we annnounce the passing of Gold Record Country Artist, Doug Supernaw.”

The label notes he began an "aggressive treatment schedule with the hopes of shrinking his numerous cancer cells.” He was placed in hospice care in October after the cancer spread to his brain and spine, the statement added.

Supernaw "died at home" in his "beloved Texas."

He is survived by his third wife, Cissy Allen, his children and grandchildren.

The Country star was best known for hits “Reno” and “I Don’t Call Him Daddy,” a song from the perspective of a divorced dad calling his son.

The song earned him Song of the Year at the 1993 ACM nominations along with Top New Male Vocalist.

He had 11 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart.

Several country artists paid tribute to the country singer following the news.

"I'm sad today for the loss of my friend Doug Supernaw. He went to be with Jesus early this morning," tweeted country star Doug Stone. "Cissy, Jade and I will be here for you. Whatever you need! This one hurts."

"Doug Supernaw has gone home ... rest easy brother," tweeted The Oak Ridge Boys.

Lee Greenwood wrote: “Praying for Doug Supernaw and his family during this difficult time. Thank you for your contributions to country music.”
