Are some first-date meals safer than others? Apparently so. A survey found that the “safest” meals for a first date are pizza (24%), burgers (21%), and salad (21%). Foods to stay away from on a first date? Oysters (19%), mussels (18%), and sushi (17%). The survey found that it takes at least four dates before people are comfortable with "riskier" food choices.
And, of course, the way someone eats can be a first-date deal breaker -- with chewing loudly, eating messily, and asking to take home leftovers being the biggest dining deal breakers.
And this is interesting … According to the survey, steak is the meal of choice when proposing to someone … as well as the top choice when breaking up with someone.
