Engvall took to Facebook live to share the news of his retirement from the road with fans telling them he is confident it’s “his time” to step back from touring, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be completely gone.

“This is something I’ve known all along was going to come,” Engvall said to fans. “I didn’t know when, but I think with anything, you reach a point in your life when you knew that it was time.”

He continued, “I want you to understand something, I’m not quitting the business completely… there’s a lot of little television and film opportunities that are heading my way. I’m not dying, the road is hard. It takes its toll on you physically [and] mentally.”

Engvall continued on to share his Here’s Your Sign, It’s Finally Time farewell tour will kick off this month and continue with 20 more stops through 2022.

Bill told fans he looks forward to more time off with his family including his wife, Gail, who has always been supportive of his career. He also anticipates spending a lot of time with his new granddaughter.

“I want to not not travel away from my family, I want to travel with my family,” he said before expressing a heartfelt thank you to his many fans.

“I wouldn’t have done any of this without y’all, the fans… you all have been with me for a long, long time and I appreciate that so much, I don’t take that lightly.”
