Big News in Chattanooga: $300 Million Concert Venue Coming to the Bend!

Rendering of the Sunset Amphitheater Chattanooga

Urban Story Ventures

The Bend is about to make the Scenic City a whole lot louder. A new $300 Million has been announced by Urban Story Ventures, looking to bring a world-class venue and entertainment to Chattanooga.

They are calling it Sunset Amphitheater Chattanooga. This landmark project is designed to be a "multi-seasonal" powerhouse and the development is in partnership with VENU. It’ll offer an open-air feel while protecting fans from the elements, allowing for live music 365 days a year. “This is a transformational moment for Chattanooga and for the Bend,” said Jimmy White, president and managing partner of Urban Story Ventures.

“At present, the city only has indoor live entertainment venues with capacities topping out around 3,800. Our venue will be Chattanooga’s first open-air venue of huge scale, with a capacity of 12,500, more than doubling what the city currently offers. This will fundamentally change the types of artists and events Chattanooga can attract and position us for national and international opportunities,” says White.

Why This Matters for Music Fans

If you’ve ever had to drive to Nashville or Atlanta to catch the biggest names in country music, those days might be numbered. Here’s what’s coming:

  • Massive Capacity: With 12,500 seats, it will actually surpass Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater in size: 6,800 seats, making it one of the largest in the state.
  • The "FireSuite" Experience: For those who like a little luxury with their lyrics, the venue will feature signature Luxe FireSuites™—private suites with central fire pits and top-tier hospitality.
  • A Tourism Hub: The project is expected to pump a staggering $4.2 billion into the regional economy, positioning Chattanooga as a premier stop on national touring circuits.

A Game Changer for the Scenic City

Currently, Chattanooga’s indoor venues max out around 3,800 seats, Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium. By more than tripling that capacity, the Sunset Amphitheater ensures that the biggest stars in the business finally have a place to "plant their flag" in East Tennessee.

Whether you’re looking for a spot in the traditional bowl, a blanket on the lawn, or a seat by a fire pit, the Bend is officially becoming the new heartbeat of Tennessee entertainment. Keep your boots ready—Chattanooga’s concert scene is about to go big time.
