Kenny Chesney continues to hit milestones as he reaches for the top country music history. Wednesday, May 20th, his latest single "Carry On," debuted at #31 on the Hot Country Songs chart and #20 on Country Airplay. In doing so, Chesney has now scored his 100th hit.
As for the Country Airplay chart, Chesney is now tied with George Strait for the most ever, with both scoring 100 hits. His next radio hit will make him one of one on that chart, establishing a new record.
With this milestone, Chesney becomes only the fourth artist in history to cross the elite 100-song threshold on the Hot Country Songs chart. He joins an exclusive club that includes:
- George Jones (the all-time leader with 157)
- Morgan Wallen (who has racked up 119 in just the last eight years)
- Taylor Swift (who secured 108 charting songs before transitioning to pop)
A New Chapter with "Hey Now Records"
Fans won't have to wait long for more. The music video for "Carry On" premieres May 21st, on YouTube.
The track marks a significant career transition for Chesney, serving as his very first release under Hey Now Records—a new label he launched earlier this year. "Carry On" is the lead single from his highly anticipated 21st studio album, which Chesney promises will drop sometime later this year.
