Songs and storytelling. That's what it was all about when Brandon opened the show for us last night.  He talked songs and storytelling and Dad life backstage w/ Drew Walker.  Brandon Lay chatted with US*99 before he took the stage at our Country Class of 2019 show at the Rosemont Theatre.

Bradon hit the stage on May 1st alongside Rachel Wammack, Ryan Hurd, and Mitchell Tenpenny in a one-of-a-kind acoustic show.

Brandon grew up in Jackson Tennessee listening to John Mellencamp, Alan Jackson and Bruce Springsteen.

His autobiographical debut single, "Speakers, Bleachers and Preachers," draws inspiration from his childhood -- he play sports during the day, worked on fixing cars after school, and his father spread the Gospel on Sundays as a minster.

He said all the life lessons taught him how to be a better country songwriter.
