The Chicago Bears love giving back to the community and that's something their players carry with them after their playing days. Former linebacker Sam Acho got together with a few sports friends from the Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls and others earlier this week to convert a liquor store in Chicago's Austin neighborhood into a food mart.
The group of friends learned last month that Austin has 17 liquor stores but just two food marts within a half-mile radius.
"This is what change looks like," Acho tweeted Monday night after the liquor store was purchased.
To mark the purchase, Acho & friends held an event Monday afternoon with attendance from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot and Chicago police superintendent David Brown ... all 3 offered their own donations to the cause as well!
