The Chicago Bears have always been focused on two things: winning football games & giving back to the community.
Star defensive player Akiem Hicks is one of the most vocal players on these goals, knowing that caring about the community right now matters more than ever.
That's why he stopped by the Boys & Girls Club in Uptown on Monday afternoon (his day off) to deliver 150 pairs of new shoes to the kids.
He told WGN-TV & Block Club Chicago, “It’s important to be a giver ... to be someone that can be counted on. I enjoy doing these type of events and being out in my community and showing people that there’s somebody that’s got your back. There is somebody that believes in you. Especially for children, I think they’re having the hardest time.”
We completely agree!
