During the pandemic, almost all performance halls and concert theaters have been shuttered. The local artists who play there? Their need to be supported has never been greater!
That's why I love this Chicago non-profit grants organization, 3Arts ... coming up on the 19th, ten local teaching, performing and visual artists will receive $25,000 unrestricted grants at the 13th annual 3Arts award celebration.
3Arts has distributed over $4.3 million in grant funds to over 1,100 artists since 2007 — the majority to women, people of color and artists with disabilities. For 2020, they've expanded and will give an additional $200,000 in grants!
My favorite part? An additional ten artists throughout Chicago's cultural communities will be receive $2,000 in the "Makde A Wave" program, as a surprise "wave of support" ....
