If you're a football player, you aim to win the Super Bowl once in your lifetime. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif of the Kansas City Chiefs did that!

That's one reason why he opted out of the upcoming 2020 season to continue fighting COVID on the frontlines. Another reason? He graduted from medical school (McGill University) in Montréal and has been working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 outbreaks as an orderly at a long-term care facility in Canada all year.

He published a long, open letter to his fans on his social media this week: "Given the worldwide sanitary crisis we are currently experiencing ... this is one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make in my life, but I must follow my convictions and do what I believe is right for me personally.”

He said he'll continue assisting as an orderly until the coronavirus is controlled ... and we love him for that!
