You are never too young to help those in need.
Just ask Olivia Rubenstein. At just 10 years old, she was able to help stock and revitalize a local food pantry.
The fourth-grader saw how hard the pandemic was effecting the Lakeview Food Pantry, so she acted. She sent an email to her classmates at Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School asking them to donate any supplies including canned food, soup, and toothbrushes.
Her classmates ended up donating 150 items! She dropped those items off at the local pantry, where there has been a 400% increase in need since the start of the pandemic.
Rubenstein said she plans to continue her mission to help feed the hungry and serve her community even after the pandemic.
