There might be no crying in baseball, but what about tears of joy?!
Amazon Studios is officially rebooting the beloved 1992 sports comedy, and co-creators Abbi Jacobson (Broad City) and Will Graham (Mozart in the Jungle) promise that the reinterpretation will have the same classic charm and joyful spirit as the Penny Marshall original, but the lens will be widened to tell an even larger story about women playing professional baseball.
The series will take a "deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters," Amazon reported.
Co-creator Jacobson will also star alongside Chanté Adams (Roxanne Roxanne), D'Arcy Carden (The Good Place), Gbemisola Ikumelo (Brain in Gear), Kelly McCormack (Killjoys), Roberta Colindrez (Vida), and Priscilla Delgado (The Protected).

No premiere date has been set, but good news is that the series has already received a stamp of approval from Geena Davis, who starred in the original film. She played Dottin Hinson, the catcher for the Peaches, one of the teams in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League that was formed during World War II.
Who else is ready to play ball?!
