
Apple Inc. has been monumental in helping combat the face mask and PPE shortage for healthcare workers and first responders. The company, under the leadership of CEO Tim Cook, donated more than 20 million face masks worldwide and began manufacturing one million face shields a week.
Cook took to Twitter to explain that Apple is working with all government officials to ensure the resources are donated to the places with the greatest need.
In a press briefing on Sunday (4/12) Governor JB Pritzker announced that Apple CEO Tim Cook donated 100,000 N95 masks to Illinois healthcare workers and first responders.
Pritzker went on the say, "We are so grateful for the generosity of companies near and far stepping up to support their fellow Americans, especially supporting the heroes of Illinois."
