If you are trying to switch up your bedtime routine and looking for something creative to do for your kids, The Global Space Educational Foundation produced Stroy Time in Space just for you!

Yes, it is exactly what it sounds like - astronauts in space on various missions reading popular children's books while floating around on their space station.

The videos are then edited and shared with kids to help be educational and inspiring.

The concept was developed by Patricia Tribe, the former director of education at Space Center Houston, and Alvin Drew, the first NASA astronaut to read a story in space for the program, and the results have been amazing!

The program has been awesome because it encourages kids to keep reading while also promoting STEM education. It has also proven to be very diverse from the topics of books read (anywhere from physics to engineering to biology), to the wide variety of reading levels to ensure all kids are learning at their own pace, to the astronauts selected to read. The group makes sure all different types of astronauts are chosen, so kids can see people that look just like them achieving their goals!

Who wouldn't want to hear their favorite story be told by a real-life astronaut while they are aboard the International Space Station and traveling through space at 17,500 miles per hour?!

Try this new story time approach tonight!
