Chase Rice is not letting the coronavirus stop him from releasing new music! Last Friday he dropped the highly anticipated follow-up album 'The Album Part II' with 4 brand new songs!
When asked why he split his latest project into two separate albums with seven and four songs respectively, Rice said people do not listen to albums like they used to by buying the CD and listening to its entirety while driving in their cars. Instead, they consume albums in smaller EP forms off streaming services, which is why Rice broke his project down into two parts. He wanted each song to get the respect and opportunity to be heard.
The first song off the new album is "You," which is a love song about finding that person that changes everything in your life for the better.
"Break. Up. Drunk" is the second track and has quickly become a fan favorite.
Rice sings about his hometown, his childhood, and the country boy inside of him on the third track "Down Home Runs Deep."
The last song on the album was a last-minute edition as Rice wanted to include a track that described how he is handling the current pandemic. "Belong" describes finding peace amid chaos and instability. He released a music video for the song that includes clips of other heroes and people making the best out of this quarantine and lockdown. Some videos include frontline workers being honored, women sewing masks for their community, and even people just dancing while trying to lite others' spirits.
Rice cannot wait until it is safe to go on tour again to play this new music for his fans!
