Chicago Bears Honor Two Legends Outside of Solider Field #BrightBytes

As the Bears celebrate their 100th season, they are also moving into the digital age.
  • Chicago Bears ask fans to arrive early on Thursday (and the rest of the season) as new e-ticketing debuts.
  • The new electronic ticketing system means no more paper tickets.
  • They ask that you have your phone out and charged as you approach the gates.

Two of the greatest in Bears history will now be permanently honored outside of Soldier Field.

  • Statues for Walter Payton and George Halas were unveiled yesterday morning. 
  • Virginia McCaskey, Halas' eldest daughter and current owner of the Bears, talked about seeing statues of war heroes when she visited Soldier Field in her youth. "We never dreamed that someday our dad and a Chicago Bear player would be honored in the same way. I still can't believe it,".
  • "This is such an amazing honor, and our family is loving this, and it's only fitting that our father stands next to his mentor here and watches over the Bears," said Jarrett Payton.

Chicago ComEd crews head to South Carolina and Florida to help with Hurricane Dorian.

  • Crews traveled down to the areas in the southeast that are in the path of Hurricane Dorian to support restoration efforts.
  • An additional 100 ComEd employees left yesterday for South Carolina, joining 500 other Chicagoans from the utility.

It is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

  • A national health campaign organized by major childhood cancer organizations to increase awareness of pediatric cancer and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure.

  • White Sox won against Cleveland and play again tonight.
  • Cubs beats the Mariners. They are off today and back at it tomorrow in Milwaukee.
