Christmastime in Chicago is unlike anything you've ever experienced. With the frozen lake, ice skating at Millenium Park, Winter Wonderland at Navy Pier, and the Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza, tourists flock to the city for the holiday season.
This year, though, will be very different due to the impact of COVID-19.
It was announced that the Christkindlmarket will be going virtual this year. This means no hot pretzel stands, no walking around all bundled up looking at all the cool ornaments, and no piping hot cider from the beer cabin...
BUT the city does not want to bypass the entire tradition, so there will a virtual "Home for the Holidays" event that will feature an online marketplace, family-friendly events, and interactive activities. This virtual Christkindlmarket will be available from November 1st through December 31st.
Also starting next week you can pre-order a Christkindlmarket box filled with seasonal souvenirs and treats!
