Great news Cubs fans, not only is baseball back, but according to sources at WGN News, the city has approved for Wrigley Field rooftops to be open and allow some fans in the stands, at a limited capacity, during Cubs games!

The city has officially approved the rooftops to be open at 25% capacity for home games, but tickets will no go on sale until the MLB formalizes this season’s schedule. The rooftop owner has also said that unfortunately, tickets for any exhibition games played at Wrigley Field will not be sold.

The 25% capacity rule will allow roughly 25 fans per game, but some larger rooftops will be able to hold more. Fans will have to follow all the new social distance guidelines and rules while cheering from the rooftops.

The mayor’s office sent the following statement:

“Maintaining the health and safety of Chicago’s residents, particularly as we continue to gradually reopen, is our top priority. Earlier this month, we issued additional guidance to restaurants and taverns as it pertains to reopening and moving into phase four. As the rooftop patios overlooking Wrigley field are also restaurants and taverns, they are included in this overarching guidance and must operate within the guidelines established by the City in coordination with public health guidance.”
