Disney Frozen fans get ready because the streaming service is releasing a 6 episode event going behind the scenes of the making of Frozen 2, the highest-grossing animated film ever.
Into The Unknown: Making Frozen 2 will start streaming on Disney + on June 26th and the 6 part documentary series chronicles the path to creating the highly anticipated sequel.
The trailer for the special series has been released and in it you see co-director, Jennifer Lee, describing the high expectations put on the second film and how the creators had to screen the movie every couple months while enduring very intense feedback.
The film will get viewers up close and personal with the trails and tribulations of creating an animated film, especially a sequel with tremendous amounts of pressure on it.
The animated movie took about six years to make because in animation the script is written then the voices are recorded, then the creators will go back and change it all dramatically. The amount of work was worth it considering Frozen 2 would go on to become the biggest animated movie ever with $1.45B in global grosses ($972.7M from the international box office and $477.4M domestically).
Fans will be excited to see the process from script creation to animated drawings, to bringing the characters to life through voice recordings. Set a reminder for June 26th to start streaming the new series!
