The Academy of Country Music Awards (ACMs) will give out fewer awards at the ceremony in Vegas this Spring. - A key new artist category has been dropped from the ACMs due to a lack of eligible artists
- In order to qualify for the new duo or group category, bands must have charted a top 40 song in the past year, have not been nominated twice in three years, have not released a third studio album, and have not won before
- As of this year, there are no acts that meet these requirements and two less awards will be handed out at the ceremony, which frees up time for more performances!
