Home Run Inn, Chicago's "Authentic Thin-Crust Pizza," announced it will donate 2,000 frozen pizzas to Northern Illinois Food Bank to help Chicago area food pantries, seniors, and school children in need of meals.
The amount will feed 8,000 people that are affected by the COVID-19 coronavirus food shortage.
The hope is to put food on Chicagoland family's tables while giving them a sense of much-needed normalcy and comfort.
All Home Run Inn locations across Chicagoland including Archer Ave., Berwyn, Beverly, Bolingbrook, Bronzeville, Chicago 31st Street, Darien, Hillside and Melrose had to close their dining room in accordance with Governor Pritzker's order, BUT all restaurants will be open during regular business hours for carryout, curbside pickup and no-contact delivery at this time.
Customers are encouraged to order and pay online at www.homeruninnpizza.com to help with no contact and social distancing.
Home Run Inn is producing more than 75,000 pizzas a day in order to keep up with customer demand at grocery stores and retail locations. All employees will also be financially supported by receiving additional sick days.
The company is doing everything it can to continue to serve its customers while also helping those in need.
