Last week Kenny Chesney announced that unfortunately, he was cancelling his 2020 Chillaxification stadium tour due to the coronavirus and the safety of his crew and fans.
Many fans and members of No Shoes Nation were upset with the news, but so was his crew that figured they were now out of a job. Have you ever stopped to wonder how many people it takes to put on a Kenny Chesney stadium show? 120. Yes, Chesney has 120 employees that all come together to make his tour possible.
Chesney decided to take care of his people and is committed to paying all his employees for the rest of the year.
When asked how much money it would take to keep everyone employed, Chesney would not go into specifics but said it was an overwhelming amount that is affecting his life, but he decided he could forego his lifestyle for a few months to help his crew. He said when it came down to it, it was about helping and protecting his people that meant more to him than the sheer amount of money.
Chesney and his crew are hoping he can hit the road next summer, but they are extremely thankful that he is still paying their salaries this year without a summer tour.
