Sports have always been used as a unifying tool, a way for people to come together and have fun no matter the score or the outcome.

A group of young adults in Philadelphia took that philosophy and tried it out during the protests this weekend. They dragged a basketball hoop around the city to help ease tension and get people to come together during the protests.

The initiative was started by Stephania Ergemlidzea and Khalil Gardner and their goal was to get protestors and police officers alike to come together for a game of basketball and it looks like it worked.

Stephania made a statement that while she wanted to help spread love and positivity, she did not want to distract from the main cause, "but instead highlighting why love is important and why we should love each other and build each other up as a whole community, and show a positive side of what the protests are all about, they are so much more than just looting and rioting like we've been seeing, it's about people coming together to work together to do what's right."

Stephania even went one on one with an officer and helped spread some smiles and laughter to the whole city.
