A picture truly is worth a thousand words and the one of a man sitting in the bucket of a truck as it lifts him up to his mother's window at the senior living home says it all.
Charley Adams has a weekly tradition of taking his 80-year-old mother out for lunch or dinner every Thursday but with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic happening, he had to cancel their plans.
He cannot even visit his mom as she lives at Windsor Estates Assisted Living and all visitations have been suspended during the outbreak since it has been proven that the elderly are more susceptible to the virus and it becomes more deadly with already compromised immune systems.
The senior living home made a rule that families could visit, but only through a window, which normally would not be a problem, but Adams' mom lived on the third floor.
Admas would not let that stop him as his mother told him she is going stir crazy just staying inside all day long with no visitors, so he came up with an idea.
He owns a tree preservation company and therefore, a bucket truck, so he used that to lift him up to her third-story window! He called her and said, "I'm right outside your window!"
His mom was ecstatic to see him and Adams was grateful because he only wanted to see her smile!
A passerby snapped a photo of the scene which has since gone viral and when asked for advice on how to handle the "new normal" Adams said, "Be nice to each other. And try to cheer each other up." #GoodVibes
