It's the beginning of September which means the school year is officially starting and while this year is unlike any we've ever had with some students having in-person learning and some being remote, we still want to encourage and support not only the kids, but also the teachers and parents that are figuring it out as they go along. This year brings a lot of stressful changes and challenges to everyone, which is why we asked up and coming country artist, Matt Stell, to take a moment out of his day to help us relax and de-stress by reading a bit from his favorite children's book.
One of the best things you can do when feeling overwhelmed is to pause, take a break, and read a book to help relax your mind. Focus on a fun and uplifting story instead of all the craziness in life.
To help with that, Stell chose to read an excerpt from The Swiss Family Robinson, a story about a heroic family that together with determination and patience survived on a deserted island for many years. The family made it through by sticking together, being creative, and never losing hope, which is exactly how we all are going to get through this school year. By working together, having much patience, and never losing sight of the main goal, students, parents, and teachers will thrive during the rest of 2020.
Remember when Zoom classrooms seem a little too overwhelming, there is nothing better than taking a moment to de-stress with a book. It's even better when families read together!
