Michael Jordan's Game Used Shoes Sell For Record Breaking Price

MIchael Jordan, Shoes, Air Jordans, Basketball, Online Auction

On Sunday, Sotheby's held an online auction for Michael Jordan's game-used and autographed Air Jordan 1's from his rookie season in 1984 for a record-breaking price.

The sneakers were being auctioned off by famous shoe collector Jordy Geller, who originally purchased the shoes back in 2012. Geller was expecting to sell the Air Jordans for about $150,000, but instead, the shoes broke the record for the most expensive Jordan sneakers ever sold.

The sneakers he wore and signed from his first season with the Chicago Bulls ended up being sold for $560,000!!!!

The previous record for the most expensive Jordan shoe sold was $190,000 for a pair of Converse he wore during the 1984 Olympics, but these Air Jordan 1's blew that record out of the water!

ESPN and Netflix just released a 10 part docuseries following Jordan and his rise to worldwide fame as the best basketball player in the history of the game with 6 championships and many other accolades. Jordan said that he will be donating all proceeds from The Last Dance to charity.
