Wedding planning can be stressful, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Then there is the question of what to do with all the decorations and flowers after the big day? Just throw them out? Donate them? Do people want used flowers?
One couple, Chance and Hannah Buckner, from Texas, asked themselves this the day after their wedding and the thought of just throwing the flowers out did not sit well with the bride. She figured they were too expensive and too well thought out to merely get tossed away, so she decided to post on Facebook to see if anyone could use a little pick me up to brighten their day.
Hannah posted, "I would like to deliver these to anyone needing a lift in their spirits. If anyone knows of someone going through a tough time, an elderly or disabled person that is alone on their street, even if you’ve never talked to them but just see them occasionally. Please message me their address and I will deliver a flower arrangement to them with an encouraging note."
The post received hundreds of comments of people nominating others in their lives including teachers, COVID-19 patients, those suffering after a family loss, or those that have been lonely during this pandemic.
Hannah and Chance filled a truck bed with the flower arrangements and spent 6 hours delivering them to people in need in their community.

The friends, co-workers, and loved ones of people in the community were so thankful and appreciative to Hannah and Chance for their kind gesture. Some even cried and hugged the newlywed couple. What may seem like a small gesture, getting a floral arrangement delivered, made a huge impact.
