CEO of St. Jude, Rick Shadyac, talks about the Country Cares Program, the #ThisShirtSavesLives movement, and the innovations of the hospital, including the increased survival rates.

When St. Jude was created by Danny Thomas back in 1962, the survival rate for children diagnosed with cancer was only 20%. Today, that number has increased to 80% overall.

Globally, though, the numbers are still around 20%. St. Jude's goal is to increase the survival rate worldwide to ensure that no child dies from cancer.

The hospital and its doctors share their research and findings with other hospitals and centers all over the world.

Since its inception St. Jude has raised millions of dollars to make sure that no families EVER see a bill.

The Country Cares program is one of the most recent initiatives to help spread the message of St. Jude. Many different country artists partner with the hospital to raise money and awareness. The #ThisShirtSavesLives movement is just one of the many ways the Country Cares program has helped St. Jude find cures and save lives.
