It's official: Russell Dickerson is going to be a dad! The singer and his wife Kailey revealed the news exclusively in this week's PEOPLE magazine.
Dickerson joked that he has been rocking dad jokes for a while now, so he is so excited to be one!
The Dickersons have been married since 2013 and were surprised by the pregnancy news after nine months of trying to conceive.
Kailey told Russell the amazing news on New Years Day, saying she had one more Christmas present left for him. She then put up a stocking on the mantel and inside were navy blue slippers with the words "Best Dad" written on them in big white letters.
The couple does not know the sex of the baby yet and is holding off on painting the nursery until they find out. They are also bouncing around some name options, but have not settled on any just yet. Dickerson's family has a tradition of naming baby boys with the initials R.E.D.; Rusell is Russell Edward Dickerson and his father is Richard Edward Dickerson. Ideally, if the two have a boy they would like to keep the Edward Dickerson tradition going.
Both parents to be are so stoked and cannot wait to welcome their first child into the world!
