Country House Restaurant in Alsip, IL is offering free meals with no questions asked during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and hopes they can continue to serve their community throughout the outbreak.

The restaurant has been taking phone orders and giving away free meals to anyone that calls for the past 5 weeks! The owner of the local business, Paul Boundas, was hoping word would spread, so they could help feed as many residents as they could and it surely has! Country House has been providing 2,500 meals a day and they're about to hit 50,000 at the end of this week!

The Country House staff has been delivering to assisted living facilities, nursing homes, schools, hospitals, private homes and apartments to feed the community. Local food distributors such as Sysco, Restaurant Depot, Badger Murphy and Whittingham Meats have stepped up their donations to help the restaurant help the local community as well.

The only issue is that the business does not know how long it can sustain its efforts with the growing demand.

Boundas said they are doing their best to feed as many people as they can daily and dropping off meals to different essential workers, but giving everything away for free has greatly impacted the restaurant's financial infrastructure.

Together we can help the community!
