A decade ago famed art and antiquities collector, Forrest Fenn, hid $1 million worth of treasure in the Rocky Mountains wilderness. Through the years he has packed and repacked the chest with gold coins, gold dust, ancient artifacts, figurines, jewelry, rubies, and emeralds. He delivered the items to the hiding spot himself and only he knows exactly where it is hidden.

He then posted clues to the treasure's whereabouts both online and in his 2010 autobiography The Thrill of the Chase.

Many have quit their jobs and hunted in vain for the very valuable chest. Some have even depleted their life savings in the quest and unfortunately, four people have perished while searching.

It was announced on Sunday though that the chest has been found!

Fenn confirmed it was the correct treasure from a picture that the hunter sent him. The founder does not want his name published, for good reason because finding millions of dollars worth of treasure that people have died over would probably put a large target on his back.

Fenn has mixed emotions about the found treasure saying he is happy for the hunter, but sad that the chase is over.
