The state of Wisconsin is asking visitors not to come including families from Illinois who own homes there because the state wants to contain the virus as much as they can.

A notice from Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services is asking people who have seasonal or second homes in the state to stay home. If you choose to travel there, the state asks that you immediately quarantine for 14 days.

This decision will negatively affect the state and its tourism industry as it makes more than $20 billion dollars a year on visitors.

Some vacation homeowners argue they can follow all the same social distance guidelines as they would at their first home in Illinois, but they want to travel for a change of scenery.

Many are wondering what will happen once the weather breaks and people want to travel to the lakes for boating and summer getaways. It is unclear what our summer will look like with COVID-19 looming over us all.
