With so many empty sporting venues across the country due to the coronavirus pandemic, some organizations have turned them into supply donation drop off sites or distribution centers.

In Chicago, the United Center, home to the Bulls and Blackhawks, has turned into a logistics hub and PPE (personal protective equipment) drop off-center benefitting the healthcare workers that are fighting on the front lines.

The Chicago Cubs just announced earlier this week that Wrigley Field will be used for the COVID-19 relief efforts as well.

The ballpark concourse will be used as a food packing and distribution center for Lakeview Pantry and will be open Monday-Saturday, 9 am - 4 pm to serve the community.

Hotel Zachary, located across the street from the field, will be used to house healthcare workers from Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Each employee will stay in the same room for their entire duration and be allowed to have food delivered to the hotel.

The hotel staff will be following all social distancing rules and wear personal protective equipment when working.
