Darius is a 12-year old boy that has two main passions: animals and bow ties.
He started designing and creating bow ties as a way to help build his confidence and motor skills because when Brown was 2 years old he was diagnosed with speech delay, comprehension delay, and fine motor skills delay. At 8 years old Brown could barely tie his shoes, so his mom and sister came up with the idea to have him help with sewing, cutting, and prepping ribbon to get him to work more with his hands.
He fell in love with creating and designing fabric and began making his own bow ties to wear. He kept getting complimented on them and decided to start his own custom bow tie company Beaux and Paws to make matching ties for people and their pets.
Once Brown heard about all the dogs in shelters that get euthanized if they are not adopted he KNEW he needed to do something.
He began donating his custom bow ties to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in order to help make the dogs look noticeable and more attractive to find their forever home.
Brown has since donated hundreds of bow ties to shelters across the countries and began fundraising to buy more fabric.
His work has been recognized by many including former President Barack Obama!
His family is so proud of his hard work and dedication to the cause! Brown wants to keep fundraising in order to travel to as many shelters as he can. His passion for animals and bow ties has helped him create an amazing organization and legacy! We hope he continues this work well into the future! #GoodVibes
