Due to a scheduling error, a frantic Waffle House employee was left to run the entire restaurant by himself on a Sunday night. He was attempting to take orders, cook food, bus tables, and manage the cash register all alone.

Ethan Crispo was one of about 30 hungry customers waiting for his food at midnight when he saw the distressed employee talking to a male customer at the counter. Crispo was unaware that the employee was working by himself until he saw the other customer grab an apron and begin washing dishes.

At first, because the transition was so smooth, Crispo assumed the male customer was actually just another employee getting back to his shift, but then he noticed it was just a very kind stranger.

A little bit later a female customer in a sequined dress went behind the counter and began brewing more coffee before taking orders and bussing tables. A third customer in a red shirt jumped right in to help as well.

The term ‘customer service’ took on a whole new meaning that night. Crispo fondly remembers it as a surreal example of humanity at its finest and a bunch of cool people coming together. #GoodVibes
