Identical twins Tori Howard and Tara Drinkard have worked at Piedmont Athens Regional in Georgia for years, but have never been able to work alongside each other until the other day.
Howard is a NICU nurse and Drinkard is a nurse in labor and delivery. The two were called to help assist in a C-section operation because for every c-section that labor and delivery does, there is one NICU nurse that goes since those operations have a higher risk.
Howard and Drinkard had no idea they would be working together until moments before the birth.
The twins helped bring another set of twins, Addison and Emma Williams into the world!
The parents of the newborns, Brannan and Rebecca Williams, said they were excited the two nurses in the delivery room were twins just like their daughters. For them, it helped ease the stress of having a c-section.
The father Brannan told Good Morning America, "It was pretty neat because Tara took care of Addison in the labor and delivery room and Tori was taking care of Emma in the NICU."
The parents really value the relationship with the twin nurses as they have been going to them for advice on how to raise twin daughters.
The novelty of delivering twin babies did not really sink in for the nurses until after the fact, but they hope to remain in touch with the family and continue to share the amazing labor story of Addison and Emma. #GoodVibes
