Great news for WGN's Dan Ponce and his family! After being quarantined on a crusie ship off the coast of Japan for two weeks, Ponce's in-laws have finally returned to the US.
According to the US Department of State and Health and Human Services fourteen people who were evacuated from the Diamond Princess cruise ship have tested positive for the coronavirus, but fortunately, Ponce's in-laws have no symptoms and are doing well!
Around 300 passengers were flown from the Japanese port city of Yokohama to a military base in Texas. They will be screened one more time for the virus before starting a 2-week quarantine at Lackland Air Force Base.
We are just so happy these passengers were able to return back to the US. #GoodVibes
