Like most middle schoolers, Jake Arsensault was having a difficult time picking out his school picture day outfit. It's a big decision because that will forever be photographed in the yearbook and on his school ID card.
His mom jokingly suggested that he should wear a Halloween hot dog costume.
Jake was reluctant at first, but then his dad chimed in and said he would pay his son $10 if he did it! The whole family agreed it would be legendary and if the school allowed it, Jake would totally wear the costume.
His mom wrote a letter to the school on picture day saying, "We are aware and OK with Jacob Arsenault's intention to wear his hot dog costume for school pictures, if possible."
The school ended up allowing it and it might be the best school ID picture we've ever seen!
Once Jake's pictures arrived, his parents were thrilled and posted them on Facebook for all to see! The photo has since recieved national attention and while some are pushing back at the parents' decision to allow it, Jake's family stands by it because it was a funny moment that they will never forget.
Jake did say his only regret was that picture day was on a half day and he wishes he could've worn his hot dog costume for a full day!
For those wondering, Jake also took a photo in normal clothes so his parents could have those memories as well.
