Lauren Harper was driving in her hometown of Greenville, South Carolina when she jumped out of her car to retrieve a wrapped Christmas gift she spotted in the road.
The tag on the gift read: "To: Mom & Dad, From: Kennedy."
Harper posted a photo of the gift on Facebook hoping to find the owner. After the post was shared thousands of times it was discovered that the gift appeared to be from La Petite Daycare.
Harper then contacted the facility and discovered Kennedy is a 3-month-old and the wrapped gift was a framed footprint for her parents.
She brought the gift to the daycare, so it could be sent home with Kennedy's parents again.
Harper said she knows how special little mementos like the footprints are for parents and she did not want them to miss out on the memory.
