For the fourth year in a row, a Wheaton man has taken home the top prize for growing the biggest pumpkin in Illinois. - Pumpkin grower Joe Adkins says "The biggest one we grew this year was 1,258 pounds,” and he had two other that were also nearly that heavy.
- He says 2,000 pounds is the holy grail of pumpkins and sees pumpkin-growing as a metaphor for sports..you know as we say in Chicago, there's always next year.
- He has been doing this competitively for 10 years.
