Katie has all your breaking news from the weekend with Bright Bytes!

Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky left the game against the Vikings yesterday with a left shoulder injury.

  • Head Coach Matt Nagy says he does not believe Trubisky's injury will be season-ending.
  • He might need surgery, but fortunately, he injured his non-throwing shoulder and could still play after the operation.
  • Back up QB Chase Daniel threw for 195 yards and a touchdown beating the Vikings 16-6!
  • The Bears move to 3 and 1 and are in 2nd place behind the Packers.
  • Next up it'll be Bears and Raiders next Sunday in London!

After missing the postseason for the first time since 2014, the Chicago Cubs have announced that Joe Maddon will not return to the team for the 2020 season.

  • His last game, a loss to the Cardinals, was last night
  • Today, he could become the most sought-after managerial free agent this offseason.

Across town, the White Sox beat the Tigers last night 5 to 3.

A lot of us felt like drowned rats over the weekend...and we continue to clean up and dry out from all the rain we got.

  • Rainfall total reached up to 9 inches in some south suburbs.
  • The good news is that it will be dry the next few days.
  • Meanwhile out west, some states are already seeing snowfall.
    • Some parts of Montana are under a state of emergency due to HEAVY snowfall. Snow in September in this part of the country isn't all that uncommon, but the amount of snow, TWO FEET, is very unusual.
