Time for a Halloween edition of 'What's Up Chicago?!'

Hundreds of thousands of students in America are petitioning to have the day off from school every year on November 1st.
  • About a million signatures have gone to thousands of petitions on Change.org.
  • An example of a submission: “School on Friday would be pointless because no one would be able to focus because they are so tired.”

Because of the winter weather advisory, trick-or-treating is postponed in several Chicago-area suburbs.

  • Some of the following are tomorrow, some are Saturday.
  • Beecher, Braceville, Braidwood, Dwight, Oakwood Hills, Rock Falls, Shorewood, Westmont, Sterling, Vernon Hills, and Winnetka have been named so far.

  • Mayor Lightfoot is refusing to along with it.
  • The CTU President is saying she is just punishing them for striking.
