Brandon Lay was born and raised in Jackson, Tennessee.

1. Lay's father was a minister and his mother was an educator.
2. He played sports growing up and he thought he was going to be an athlete instead of a musician.
3. His guitar teacher encouraged him to pursue a career in music.
4. He welcomed his son, Ryder, in September 2018!
5. He played the Grand Ole Opry just 24 hours after the birth of his son. "I went straight from the hospital. I still had my hospital band on and got to do my Opry debut, and then went back to the hospital to pick Nicole up," he said.
