The Chainsmokers closed out night one of Lollapalooza in an electrifying fashion with a little help from their friends.
Drew and Alex had plenty of fireworks to assist with their set, but it was the surprise appearances that had fans losing their minds.
No strangers to collaborations, when The Chainsmokers took the Bud Light stage at Lollapalooza on Thursday they brought out many of the collaborators from different genres who have helped them earn the title of "highest-paid DJ duo."
One of those major names was country-pop singer Kelsea Ballerini.
Ballerini made her debut at Lolla to perform her hit "This Feeling."
While this may have been her first Lollapalooza, we're hoping that it isn't her last.
Though Lollapalooza originally started as a rock festival, much like The Chainsmokers, it's been transgressing genres and embracing acts from a wider scope.
Country music still has some way to go before it makes its mark on Lolla, but artists like Chris Stapleton (who played Lollapalooza in 2016) and Kacey Musgraves (who performed on Sunday night) are leading the charge.
Hopefully, this means Ballerini will be more than just a surprise appearance next year.
Other artists who made appearances during The Chainsmokers' set included Bebe Rexha (Call You Mine), Daya (Don't Let Me Down), Ty Dolla $ign and bülow (Do You Mean), and The Fray's Isaac Slade who helped The Chainsmoker's write their hit "Closer" and performed "Over My Head (Cable Car)."
