A Florida City Is Selling Swans For $400 A Piece
A Florida city seems to have their hands full with their swan population which is why they have decided to hold an auction this weekend and sell these birds.
Officials in Lakeland, Florida say that they spend $10,000 a year feeding and caring for these swans. The overpopulated birds have caused issues in and around the city. So they have decided to have a swan sale this weekend.
"We currently have 80 swans here on Lake Morton to feed and care for, so we are looking to sell around 30 to 40 to ensure proper care for them all," Bob Donahay, Lakeland's Director of Parks and Recreation said. The asking price for these swans is $400 and that, according to Donahey, is a bargain.
