James Cameron revealed the progress of the Avatar franchise during a video chat with Arnold Schwarzenegger for the Austrian World Summit.
"COVID hit us like it did everybody," James Cameron said as he talked about when the films would be released. "We lost about four and a half months of production. As a result of that, we've rolled around one more full year for a release in December of 2022."
Cameron went on to say that once Avatar 2 is released in 2022 they will begin finishing Avatar 3. Arnold tried to get details on the storyline of the film but Cameron wasn't budging.
