Gov. Pritzker Issues a 'Shelter In Place' Order Starting Saturday Night
All residents were asked to stay in their homes and maintain social distancing of at least six feet from other people in shared or outdoor spaces. All "non-essential" businesses in the state are also ordered to close.
Exemptions include obtaining healthcare supplies or treatment; obtaining necessary supplies for themselves or household members; caring for family members or pets in other households; performing work "providing essential products and services"; and outdoor activities such as walking, hiking or running, "provided the individuals comply with Social Distancing Requirements."
You will still be able to order food for pick-up/delivery from your local restaurants as well.
In essence, the Shelter In Place order does not change these businesses remaining open: grocery stores, pharmacy, gas stations, restaurants, roads, public transit, medical/doctor offices and hospitals.
