After Chicagoans, Mayor Emmanuel & the Chicago Police Department expressed their displeasure after charges of filing a false report against 'Empire' actor, Jussie Smollett, were dropped, some felt solice in the fact that the city intended to sue Smollett for investigation costs.
The City of Chicago went through with that promise, filing a civil complaint with the Cook County Circuit Court.
The city spent $300,000 investigating an alleged homophobic & racist attack on Jussie Smollett, which CPD ultimately deemed a "hoax."
