Villagers Find Frog As Big As A Human Baby Weighing Almost TWO POUNDS In Solomon Islands
Video of an enormous frog taken in the Solomon Islands is getting a lot of attention online, and with good reason. Timber mill owner Jimmy Hugo was hunting wild pig when he came across the frog; he says it had been caught by dogs, allowing him to get the pictures and video. The frog in the video is clearly the size of a human baby, with a small child holding it up for a picture that shows it stretching from the child's chin down to his knees.
That's a crazy frog, but the interesting part is that Hugo says they're not uncommon in the area. He says local villagers call them "bush chicken" because they like to eat them more than chicken. The Cornufer gupbyi is one of the largest frogs in the world, but its population has been dropping in recent years, with chemicals found in the clothing detergents in nearby streams being to blame.
What happened to the frog? They ate it because it was already dead. Hugo did say that if they find another one, they'll keep it alive.
